Pregnant after ectopic & scared!

Dear Son2020,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy.

I am glad to see you have your early pregnancy scan is booked. Discomfort and twinges can certainly be normal with subsequent pregnancies, and whilst I do not wish to alarm I do sadly have to remind you to seek urgent medical advice with any worsening pain, bleeding, shoulder too pain or you feel dizzy and unwell.

I wish I had more tips on how to make the time pass more quickly as I vividly remember it going so slowly waiting for my scan. Try to keep your mind busy, read, watch a box set in your spare time.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

I had my scan today at 6+3 and the pregnancy is in the right place and there was a visible heartbeat. I’m feeling very tearful! She said congratulations and you out of the woods, but having had a miscarriage at 12 weeks I can only take it one step at a time. I had my hospital bag with me and everything. It’s strange. Maybe I’ll relax at 20 weeks. I feel like I don’t want to tell anybody. But I hope that this might help some people, because I had aches and twinges where the ectopic was on the right and there was nothing there at all on the scan. I ovulated on the left as I thought. I had expectant management, and it took three months of trying and I’m 38. Best of luck to everyone xx

Dear Appleday,

That is just the best news. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Thank you for taking the time to post, Keep us updated and give hope to do many.

I know how you feel, it was well into my pregnancy before I actually, truly believed it was happening.

Try your best to relax with it and we all send you positive thoughts and much love,

Karen x
