Pregnant 11 weeks after methotrexate

I had methotrexate 11 weeks ago and then 48 hours later I had my right tube removed due to a rupture and internal bleeding.

I have a feeling I am pregnant. I have been taking 5mg of folic acid daily and my most recent blood tests showed my folate level as very good. But I still can’t help but panic.

I had my first period 4 weeks from the day of the op. And my second period 4 weeks later. I’ve always had very regular cycles

Has anyone else got pregnant sooner than the recommended 2cycles/3months.

Thanks for reading x

Dear Shanmurray12,

As you are aware, we do advise taking folic acid supplements for 12 weeks prior TTC following methotrexate injection.

If you feel you maybe pregnant, I would advise talking a pregnancy test. If it is positive, speak to your GP, who will haveaccess to your recent blood results and let you know the levels and reassure you.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Hi Karen.

Thanks for reading and replying.

I had bloods taken at 6 weeks post op and my folate levels were good. I’ve been taking 5mg daily Since my op.

I’m not due my period until next week so I think it’s just a bit too early to test. I’m probably just wishful thinking if I’m honest.

Wondering if anyone else got pregnant quite soon after both methotrexate and surgery. Hoping for some positivity  xx

I wanted to let you know about my experience. I had methotrexate on 27 May and conceived on 24 July so approx. 2 calendar months after and only 1 full menstrual cycle.

I’m now 16 weeks pregnant and had an early anomaly scan yesterday to double-check the methotrexate hasn’t caused any issues and everything is looking perfect!

Good luck to everyone going through or recovering from an ectopic pregnancy. Horrible experience but there is hope xxx

Thanks for taking the time to comment here!

Congratulations I hope everything is going ok for you

I am currently pregnant again too!! I’m so excited but so scared. I have a scan on Friday to rule out another ectopic so I have everything crossed! Never thought I’d get to this point!
