Please help!

I fear I might have an EP because I have been having abdominal pain for more than a week since the last day of my period. Doctors cant find the cause and it would be too soon to find a pregnancy. Can you please explain how it feels the pain? Had you had pain for weeks like me? when does the pain start, at conception, implantation or when it started to rupture? Is it constant pain o more stabbing and once in a while? Do you feel contractions? I have been feeling contractions like on my bladder. They have tested for a lot of things and cant find an obvious cause. I only had Coitus Interuptus a couple time I am terrified please, explain me…

Dear warmaiden,

I am so sorry to hear of the worrying time you are going through.

Sadly I cannot give you specific advice on pain as we all experience it completely differently, pain is unique. Some ladies experience pain for a few days prior, do not feel any pain until they are rushed into hospital.

Ectopic pregnancy can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are very similar to other conditions. Abdominal pain could be due to many things including gastroenteritis or an infection. However, it could be a sign of ectopic pregnancy but I am afraid that I do not know enough to say whether this could be the cause in your circumstances. You are doing the right thing by speaking to your doctors about your pain and to look into ectopic pregnancy they would conduct internal ultrasound scans and possibly blood tests.

Symptoms for an ectopic pregnancy can show as early as four weeks gestation. Although I do not wish to alarm you, l would advise seeking urgent medical advice if you experience any unusual bleeding, abdominal pain, shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel problems or feel dizzy and unwell. We have further information on symptoms of ectopic pregnancy on our website.

Sending much love and warm hugs,

Karen x

Dear, Karen. Thank you so much. The doctors still haven’t found the issue but sadly I have a strong feeling about this. I have another appointment with my OBG next Thursday. I wouldn’t have enough time for them to be able to find it. I know he is considering this too… Thank you so much for your reply. Even talking helps. I guess I just need to know how it feels in the beginning. Also… Do you know if the pain increases after taking hot showers?

Dear Warmaiden,

Sorry to say that I can not give specific advice on your pain as we really do all experience it so differently.

I would advise speaking to your medical team.

Sending much love and warm hugs,

Karen x
