Hi Everyone, my name is Olga and I live in Dublin, Ireland. I have a gorgeous husband and a lovely son who is 2.5 yrs old.
Last summer I started TTC again, thought it would be nice for a another little one. I got a so-called period at around the normal time, and then it disappeared followed by lots of spotting. I did a pregnancy test, because I felt funny and it was positive. I was thrilled, but because of continuous spotting, I rang my hospital who told me to come in. They did another preg test that confirmed that I hadn’t had miscarriage, but booked me in for early scan the following week. I couldn’t believe it during the scan when there was nothing in my uterus and they could see something on my left tube. They took me down to surgery that evening and removed my baby and left tube.
I recovered quickly enough and was really positive after my surgery. After Christmas I started TTC again, and was getting a bit frustrated that nothing was happening. However, at the end of March I started feeling “weird” again, had funny period followed by spotting. I was devastated even before doing my pregnancy test, I knew in my heart and soul that it was another ectopic. I booked myself back into hospital and EP was confirmed (after a lot of blood tests and two scans). I was treated with Meth injection this time, was really a hard ordeal. Last week my hormone level was down to 17, can’t wait for it to get down to zero, so I can start to pick up the pieces. The difficult thing about it this time is that they didn’t really know where the EP was - could have been in stump on left side or in right tube. Only time will tell.
This site has been invaluable, I don’t know what I would have done without it. It’s great just to sometimes read other people’s stories and to know you are not the only one out there.
