I had an ectopic pregnancy in April , thankfully I miss carried naturally just as we were ready for theatre my bloods came back so I still have both tubes . I’ve had a period and started to try again in the last week and I’ve just started having twinges in the same place . Could this just be uncomfortable ovulation as its too early to be pregnant or even be in pain from it , as I’m assuming it’s still bruised inside?
Ever since I had an ectopic in January and my right tube removed, I get cramps for about an hour when I ovulate. Your body is still healing! Good news is you can tell when you ovulate
It’s the same tube cause I avoided a removal so I think that’s why I’m nervous ! I’m very in tune with my body ! Always known when I’ve been ovulating . Before I knew I was pregnant last time , I told my husband I was releasing from the left side that month ! And soon after I found out I was pregnant I knew it was ectopic . It’s more like twinges , like how it was when it was ectopic but even if I was even just 3 days pregnant it surely wouldn’t be that so I’m just hoping its ovulation !
Dear Lauren,
It is completely normal to feel anxious about any aches and pains following an ectopic pregnancy.
I am not medically trained and on the limited information it is hard to say what your pains are caused by. Pain following ectopic pregnancy is common, your body may be preparing to ovulate and many women experience ovulation pain when they did not before their ectopic pregnancy - including myself. You have already mentioned that you are in tune with your body but you may also may have a heightened perception because of the sad loss that you have had to go through.
Symptoms of ectopic pregnancy may occur from as early as 4 weeks pregnant so sadly I do have to gently remind you that if you miss a period and experience pain or bleeding or your pain worsens at any point to seek urgent medical attention.
As you have had a previous ectopic pregnancy however we do advise that you have an early pregnancy scan at 6weeks. It is often reassuring to know we are u see the radar of medical care.
Sending much love,
Karen x
