New pregnancy

So it’s been 6 weeks since my last period. I had ectopic rupture removal and tube on right side removed in April this year. I have had a scan and they are unable to find the pregnancy yet so have assumed I am only 4 weeks. I had my bloods done yesterday and need them done again tomorrow. Yesterday my hcg was at 1454. I am getting right pelvic pain (where the previous ectopic was removed. I should also add I had an operation on the left port site from laprosocopy 2 weeks ago to fix a hernia and tested negative for pregnancy then. I’m panicking as I’m so close after operation that I may not recognise symtpoms if it is another ectopic. We so want this to be a viable pregnancy, I’m going out my mind and every single twinge makes me panic as I was ignored last time and nearly died as a results (misdiagnosed as 6 weeks normal pregnancy when was much further along and ectopic)

Hi Stacey louise88,

I am so sorry to hear of the worrying time you are going through. Suffering an ectopic pregnancy can create a heightened awareness of what is happening with our bodies. It’s important to communicate what you are experiencing with your doctors and to know that you can continue to advocate for yourself.

If you are concerned about your symptoms worsening, I would always advise to seek urgent medical advice, at the very least to put your mind at rest. You may want to continue the home pregnancy tests, for peace of mind. I’m not medically qualified to comment on your situation, but I always encourage women to continue to ask the questions they have, even writing them down prior to the visit to ensure you are able to ask all of them.

It can be very worrying when we do not know what is going on with our bodies, and you know your body best, so if you have any concerns, I would advise seeking medical advice.

With many good wishes,

Michele

Just wanted to update-My hcg more than doubled and so they were very happy. I had a scan on Thursday and they said they could see what they would expect for a normal 5 weeks pregnancy. I am going back next week for another scan to hopefully find heart beat. I’m still in a lot of pain though but the hospital are not concerned as I’m not bleeding out. Thank you for your kind words.
