I can’t believe now that i waited so long before trying to get pg. I’ve been with my partner for 15 years. We got married 3 years ago and started trying straight away. I wasn’t keen to try felt I wasn’t ready. But fortunately after just 3 months found out I was pg. I have a lovely baby boy. We felt it would be great to try again and I didn’t think we would have any problems. After trying for 7 months nothing had happend. I had a couple of light periods in Jan and Feb which was the only slightly odd thing - they are normally v heavy. Away on holiday I started getting severe pains, followed a day later by spotting. Feeling scared I didn’t know what to do. Hubby thought I was just exaggerating my discomfort. Big arguments over why I was walking oddly and him getting me to walk loads more up big hills!!! As said I was obviously so out of shape that this was the consequence! I eventually went to the local hospital - where I wasn’t seen. After a few days in bed the pain subsided and I was feeling fine again. Back in the UK now and back to work with an appt to see my Dr at the end of the week. My employers do not approve of day appts so I could only get an evening one right at the end of the week. Dr told me that he could do nothing for me on a Friday evening and that I should go straigth to A&E.
A&E tested and said I was pg - congrats!! come back tomorrow for a scan. The following day they almost didn’t give me an internal scan. When they did they saw that my womb was empty but I did have a large growth in my fallopian tube. 2 hrs later I was on the operating table. They took my ovary and said that they had found evidence of a number of miscarriages, I had an ovarian cyst and ep - in the Drs words ‘a total mess’.
I’ve been home now post ep for 5 weeks and have just go AF - which is great!. Physically I feel much stronger. Emotionally I feel the loss acutely.
Thanks for this wonderful board. It’s great to know that I have friends out there in cyber space that can relate and understand how painfulk having an ep is.
