Hi All
Just couldn’t resist coming back to say hello to you all especially any of you who remember me from my years on this site! I wanted to wish everyone reading the best luck with their pregnancies and to those struggling to conceive to say that it can and does work out in the end so don’t give up hope.
Our story in brief:
ds was born Dec 2006 and when he was 1 I was diagnosed with my ep already at 7 weeks pregnant. Had classic ‘prune juice’ bleeding and after methotrexate didn’t work had my right tube removed. It had taken us 2 years to fall pregnant with ds as I had very long cycles (eventually diagnosed with PCOS) but I fell pregnant straight away with ep. After the obligatory 6 month wait after meth we started trying again but nothing happened. I was put on clomid and managed to conceive on the 2nd cycle. We were devasted to lose the baby at 11 weeks on holiday despite having seen a heartbeat at the 7 week scan Did 9 more cycles of clomid which were pure torture and did not work then moved on to IVF. Tried 3 rounds of IVF (2 fresh, 1 frozen cycle) and despite producing good quality embryo’s and having 4 put back in total I still didn’t get pregnant. This all occurred over a 5 year time frame. As a last resort my fertility doctor suggested we could try an operation called ‘ovarian drilling’ where they laser tiny holes into the ovary to help them release eggs and do an HSG to check the viability of the remaining tube. Two months after this procedure to our utter amazement I fell pregnant with a daughter who is now 19 months old and doing great! the tube turned out to be open but I believe this flushing out with the dye in the HSG was what helped us. Also the ovarian drilling made me ovulate on my own at a regular time in the month and the effects of it are still working.
If this inspires anyone to have hope when they are feeling down I will be so happy. Also wanted to say thank you to the EPT as these boards really kept me going over all this years of TTC.
Good luck and baby dust to you all
