Just after a bit of advice!

Looking for any advice or anyone who has been in a similar position!

I first started bleeding at the end of June (5 weeks pregnant). Went to EPU for a scan a week later to be told possible ectopic - re scan a week later confirmed this. Since then I have been having regular (weekly), but sometimes twice weekly blood tests which have shown HCG is still rising, all but slowly. They have confirmed my levels are too low for it to be a viable pregnancy. We are back next week for another blood test. There’s absolutely no sign of anything happening so I can’t see my levels decreasing! I haven’t had any treatment, the doctor has just said they are hoping it’ll resolve its self naturally. Emotionally and physically exhausted with it all!

Dear lucy,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy,

If your levels are rising, albeit slowly, I would discuss the possibility of treatment with your team.

Not all treatment is appropriate for everyone so I cannot give specific advice, but I would certainly ask the question as to when they would consider treatment for you.

Getting hCG down to pre pregnancy levels can be a long drawn out process, and that’s when your levels start decreasing. It can be very emotionally draining and I would also advise speaking to your medical team about how this is affecting you emotionally.

I do have to remind you to seek urgent medical advice with any worsening pain or bleeding or you experience shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel changes or feel dizzy and unwell as sadly there is a risk of rupture even with low and declining levels.

We will be here for you for as long as you need,

Sending much love,

Karen x

Hello Lucy,

I hope you’re ok, its an extremely exhausting process and I’m so sorry you are having to go through it. Although I didn’t experience what you are going through, I will try and help in any way or here just to listen if that helps. What are your hcg levels currently? I know it may be awful but if it can be managed naturally, that will definitely be the best option but equally the medical team should let you know what the limit is. My levels were 1970 when I was given Methotrexate but I had to have another jab and twice weekly bloods until hcg back down to 0, so it’s all definitely a drawn out process but the main aim is that you stay healthy, which I often forgot during the whole nightmare. Sending you lots of :revolving_hearts:
