Hi all,
My first ectopic ruptured at 5weeks 4 days and I’m slowly recovering now (2.5weeks post op).
My drs told me the NHS will only scan me in my next pregnancy when I hit 6 weeks - which obviously would be too late to save my remaining tube if the same happens again.
I was wondering… is the a way of getting tested sooner? (Eg bloods?) can I insist on this? Anyone know the NICE guidelines? Any other ways to deal with this difficulty?
TIA
Xx
Hi,
I had an early scan today. I’m 4 weeks,4 days, but the pregnancy is too small to see, so the scan was inconclusive. I have another scan next week when I’ll be 5 weeks, 4 days and hopefully there will be something to see then. I guess the earlier it is, the less likely it is the scan will show anything. You can request an earlier one, I don’t think there are hard and fast rules, just hospital policy.
I hope you’re recovering well, take care of yourself. Give yourself time to heal.
xx
Thanks MamaJoy, that’s really reassuring to hear that if I push the hospital hard enough they might let me slip in earlier.
I hope your second scan comes back with good news for you - it’s frustrating and nerve-wracking having to get scanned at all, let alone having to go back repeatedly.
Thanks for your response. X
