Hey all was just after some advise or guidance. As
states in a previous post I had an ectopic pregnancy (September last year) which resulted in surgery to be removed and the removal of my right tube. Periods pretty much returned to normal after couple months. However last month I started my period 2weeks early and this resulted in me going to a and e and given tablets to slow it down and was told it was menorrghia. Now my period has returned this month at normal time however is heavy again with lots of clots of all sizes and awful cramps. I was just wondering if this is normal or if it’s my body still settling down? I feel embarrassed now as it’s reallt heavy and resulting in a few changes of pads and tampons a day. Thanks for any feedback!
Dear Bethney,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Your periods can take a while to get back to a rhythm that is more usual for you. I also found that my periods changed for a few months after my losses. You should be able to manage the discomfort with over-the-counter pain relief and should not be soaking a pad in less than an hour. If this is not the case, you should seek medical attention.
If you are concerned, you can also talk this through with your GP.
Sending much love,
Karen x
