Feeling a little better....

Hi everyone. I was treated with methotrexate for an eptopic pregnancy mid-end Feb. It was my first pregnancy. We’d been trying for ages and had given up. Needless to say we were / are devastated. However, last week and this week, for the first time since it all happened, I’ve had a day or two where I felt like my old self. And it was lovely and scary all at the same time. Lovely to know that I’m still in here, somewhere, and scary as I don’t know how long it will last and how soon I’ll have another falling down moment. I guess I should just enjoy it while it lasts. I’m also feeling guilty for not feeling as sad as I have - which is weird as well. I know it’ll take time to get over this horrible awful thing, I’m just inpatient. But nice to know it might happen one day. Just wanted to share as it’s all a bit of a weird feeling x

Dear buddy071,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,

When we experience ectopic pregnancy we are suddenly faced with a life threatening emergency and it’s treatment, reduction in fertility, concerns about the future and the loss of our babies. Experiencing any one of these is an ordeal, putting them together is immense and your feelings are completely normal.

We will all experience different feelings at different times, there is no set pattern. Just take each day as it comes.

Sending much love,

Karen x
