Hi there, this is my first time posting.
I had 2 successful pregnancies (10 years ago and and then 16 years ago).
I had an ectopic back in February this year and was operated in in March - I lost my right tube.
7 days ago I had intercourse with my partner for the first time since my op.
I am now convinced I’m pregnant because I have experienced many symptoms and some are so like my ectopic symptoms and others are the same pregnancy symptoms i had all 3 times.
I have tested negative on a home pregnancy test today and negative on a standard hcg blood test that was done by my doctor yesterday - but I expected that.
I just wanted to know if the crampy/shooting pains in my shoulder tips, and the pains I’m getting around where my remaining fallopian tube are, could be another ectopic?
Would I get those pains this early?
Thanks for reading x
I had some bloods taken with my gp on Thursday that was negative.
I then ended up in a&e on Saturday with many pains, and a bad dizzy spell and nausea, but as my hcg levels showed up as being 2 they said it wasn’t enough to be classed as pregnant, so they told me I wasn’t.
BUT I know my body well, and I’m totally convinced I am pregnant & I know I’m definitely feeling the pains etc and I know the symptoms I have aren’t normal.
My gp is trying to arrange an ultrasound.
From my ectopic, I know that if I was to compare things to that, then I would be starting to feel symptoms around now and then next week it would take a turn for the worse, so I’m looking for a bit of reassurance.
Can anyone shed some light on this please, it would be much appreciated?
Dear Worried01,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss and the worrying time you are currently experiencing.
Sadly I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice on your symptoms however symptoms for an ectopic pregnancy can show as early as four weeks gestation so it is possibly a little early right now.
You have however done the right thing in seeking medical advice.
Ectopic pregnancy can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are very similar to other conditions and pain is unique to everyone.
I would advise to monitor your symptoms and if anything changes or worsens, to again seek medical advice.
Sadly I do have to remind you that if you experience any unusual bleeding with worsening abdominal pain or shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel problems or feel dizzy and unwell please seek urgent medical advice.
Sending much love,
Karen x
