Ectopic PG and thena Complete Molar PG

Hello ladies,

Well this is the first time I have posted on here after lingering for a year and a half! I had my ectopic pregnancy in May 2009 which was an emergency situation and I have to have one of my fallopian tubes removed (stupidly I cannot remember which one, I think it was all a bit much). I got PG again in June 2010 and we were thrilled and went for a very early scan to confirm it was in the womb. I then started to misscarry in July, eventually had a d&c and my PG was a confirmed Complete Molar Pregnancy which for those of you who do not know, it’s when a tumor growsin your womb and your body thinks it’s pregnant. My hcg levels took 13 weeks to return to normal but luckily I avoided chemo.

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone else had experience of both? On the molar pregnancy board there are 2 or 3 other women who have.

I am PG again now (extremely early) and am very anxious.

Hi Holly

I am not going to give you medical information about CMP. But for anyone else, who maybe would like to know more then the UK not for profit group providing the [a Molar Pregnancy Support and Information Service is a very useful website.

You have had a very bad run of ‘luck’. Not that I would refer to what you have been through as any kind of luck :frowning: but statistically, the odds are now in your favour so I send you whispered congratulations and a hope that all will be well. I will keep an eye out for you to see how you are doing](http://www.molarpregnancy.co.uk/info.html#what)

Hi Zoe,

Yes I decided to join here too! I’m more worried about ectopic than molar at the moment for some reason - let’s hope to rule that out at 6 weeks and rule molar out at 9 weeks  One day at a time.

Izzie, thanks, I already use that website and it’s been a great comfort to me in the last few months. I don’t like the word ‘luck’ either - I don’t like being unlucky!

Thanks for your support

Everything crossed for you darling

Hi Holly,

I am another lady who has gone through both.

I had a molar pregnancy in 2003, my levels were really high and it took 3 -4 months to come back down, I was 11 weeks before it was seen on a scan, I had been so sick. Then as you know you have a 6 month wait. So I done this then got pregnant the 1st month of trying. This was the ectopic. I couldn’t believe it.

I think after the ectopic, I was more worried about another molar. I guess because I was treated really quickly with the ectopic, even though I lost a tube, it just made me deal with it better. I also always believed I would have my baby.

After the ectopic we tried again very quickly and this was a sucessful pregnancy and my 1st daughter was born in April 2005. It was full of worry for the full 9 months, but I guess you know about how that feels right now. My 2nd DD was born in April 2007.

I really hope your pregnancy goes well. I will keep an eye out for your news.

Linda

Hi Linda,

Thanks for posting and telling your story. It’s interesting that you were more concerned about a molar and less about an ectopic on your third pregnancy, mine is very much the other way round. I had my molar in July and were supposed to wait 6 months after getting my first normal result, but we only waited 6 months since d&c after speaking to a consultant.

I’m worried about EVERYTHING at the moment though, but it’s so nice to hear that things have worked out well for you and you have two little ones - it must have been a dream come true.

I will try and keep the faith!
