Brown Blood/CM

Hi All

I have googled this so much and i figure the best people to ask are you lot!

Did any of you ladies have a small amount of blood followed by minor spotting or brownish CM around the time your period was due and did you have it with your ectopic or your normal pregnancy?

What im trying to establish is, is this a good sign because maybe implantation in the uterus could cause this more so than ectopic??

I had what i thought was a full period when i had my ectopic so im answering “heavier bleeding with Ectopic”

I have spotting/brown cm around DPO+12 - DPO+18 now but don’t know if my pregnancy is OK yet

I know im clutching at straws bit would be really interested to see if there is any pattern.

I had spotting with both. With my ep, it was enough for me to think I got my period. With my normal pregnancy, I had pinkish and brown spotting on and off for the first 13 weeks.

Hi Julie-Ann,

I had very small amount of brown discharge each day when my period was due which then disappeared after 5 days. Two days later it started again - v. small amount each day. This was my EP.

Had with ectopic and normal pregnancy

Ectopic was heavier than normal pregancy though

Normal pregnancy was mainly when I wiped after going to the loo

I’m on my third normal pregnancy and didn’t have any spotting with my first two (prior to ep) nor have I had any with this one so far and I’m 19 weeks. With my ep I had brown, watery spotting, which is sometimes called “prune juice” bleeding, around the time my period would have been due.

Had enough bleeding with EP to think that AF had arrived. I didnt know that i was PG until the month after.

I had a normal pregnancy (which ended in miscarriage) and I had no spotting. With the ectopic I had bleeding at exactly the same time as my period was due. I didn’t know I was pregnant until 12 days later when I did a test because I was feeling sick.

I had normal periods like bleeding one week after periods due date.

i had a two and half day period (usually 4) but thought it was a bit weird but I also had excrutiating pains - so bad I have to leave work. They lasted about 5 hours and had me bent over double.

Then 2 weeks later I had same pains but not as sore and bright red bleeding for 8 hours then it went away. We were at a wedding but when I got home I read up on implantation bleeding - thought that’s what I had - did test and was BFP but three weeks later was confirmed EP.

i had brown CM at about 7 weeks, shortly before my EP was diagnosed

had normal AF, and then continued with bright red spotting and sometimes bright read heavy.

With my ep i also had enough bleeding to think it was my period as i was bleeding bright red blood.

Brown discarge for days each time followed by red blood. Which would change back to brown discarge

I didn’t get implantation bleeding but did have brown blood when period was due.I thought it was an nusuak period and therefore didn’t know i was pregnant

no bleeding for my first (normal) pregnancy.

with the ectopic I bled a couple days after AF was due - so never guessed that I was pregnant. I thought it was a normal period, but I think it must have been lighter / shorter than usual.

I had red bleeding with ep.

i had brown spotting with normal preg.

I’ve had two ectopic, ovarian pregnancies. I had implantation bleeding with both of them. With my first ectopic pregnancy I thought after the implantation bleeding a few weeks later I was getting my period late. (I didn’t know I was pregnant, but I had suspicions something was happening inside of me.) After 14 days of bleeding, I saw the doctor and later landed in the ER with an ectopic pregnancy (treated with methotrexate). With my second one, I had implantation bleeding and weeks later bled like I had experienced a miscarriage. The second one was further along than the first one when it was treated. The bleeding was so painful and intense too. I was very blessed the methotrexate worked with my second one since my HCG levels were so high.

I had one streak of pink blood 8dpo then didn’t have any pain or spotting. At 13.5 weeks (after having had my 12 week scan and being told it was perfectly on track and doing well!) i got stomach ache that went from achey to crippling in about 3 minutes. Even then i didn’t think it could be an ectopic as i had always read that they present themselves at 6-7 weeks.
