Possible ectopic would love advice

Hello all.

I have three babies earthside and had a CP before conceiving my third living baby. I track my cycle closely with OPKs CM and BBT so I know when I ovulate. On 9DPO this cycle I started spotting, thought maybe implantation spotting. Then it picked up to a pretty regular flow period like bleed. I wasn’t expecting Aunt Flo until about 13DPO. I am now 15DPO and still bleeding I’m not going through pads or anything but it’s more than spotting and I’ve even had some tiny clots which is abnormal for me. Usually I only cramp around day 2-3 of my period and I am having some cramping even last night and tonight still, days 6-7 of bleeding. Will also add that I decided to take a pregnancy test on 10DPO it was faintly positive and has gotten darker since then. With my previous CP I had tests that got lighter and then I started bleeding. Also, with my previous CP I had my BBT drop back down day 2 of bleeding. My BBT has remained elevated. Went in for HcG blood test two days ago (13DPO) and levels were around 23. Had redraw today and I’m still waiting on results. Just wondering if this has been anyone else’s experience with an ectopic to have bleeding start right around the time of implantation? Other than mild cramping and some nausea I’ve not had any “classic” ectopic symptoms and I know often people don’t show symptoms until a little further along. I know I need to wait and see what my blood levels do and even then it seems like no matter what they do we can necessarily rule out ectopic until an US is done. Would just love any insights or wisdom from someone with experience. Thank you in advance!!!

Hi Meg,

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this worrying time. Please know that we are here for you. I’m not medically qualified to comment on your specific situation. I know how challenging it can be to understand what our bodies are doing in early pregnancy. It is very good that you are being monitored with HCG draws. I know it can be difficult to wait for subsequent tests and results. During this time, I encourage you to look after yourself and rest as much as possible. Your body is doing some work, and it is normal for us to want to identify what is happening.

Importantly, as your HCG is above 5, you should continue to monitor for any changes in sensations, bleeding, or pain. Please continue to monitor your symptoms. Your hospital should have given you a number to contact for health advice if you feel that anything is changing, or you will have been told to report to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department. If you have not been told what to do and need to speak to someone, ring the hospital department which is treating you or the NHS 111 Service by dialling 111.

These boards are filled with women who have been through similar experiences. Please know that we are here for you anytime and as long as needed.

With good wishes,

Michele

Hello! No advice I’m afraid but I am currently going through the exact same thing! I wondered if you’ve had any further news? This is the only post I’ve found where someone is experiencing the same thing as me.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Sending lots of hugs!
