Hi everyone so I’m new to this forum I joined to try finding some advice. I had a miscarriage in 2011 then an ectopic in 2014 emergency surgery but tube not removed this surgery wasn’t so successful that I had methotrexate too, in 2016 fell pregnant again successfully now have a 3 year old boy. Then in January 2018 found out I was pregnant had an early miscarriage which then sent my body crazy no periods for 3 months had to have hormones to restart them, December 2018 found out I was pregnant experiencing bleeding my doctors and epac would not consider an appointment two days later I felt the excruciating pain of an ectopic and took myself to a&e they tried to disregard me as a miscarriage I refused to leave without being checked over, by evening I was put on a ward and confirmed ectopic and set for surgery the next day where my tube was removed. Now I have found out I am pregnant terrified of the idea of another ectopic I started bleeding 4 days after positive pregnancy test ( did about 13 because I didn’t believe one ) now it’s been 6 days of bleeding on Wednesday epac took my bloods because was on estimated at 4.5 weeks so too early to scan my hcg levels were 65 so really low went back on Friday to repeat and they were 171 so had risen well, but Thursday night I passed a small stringy bit of tissue then Saturday (yesterday) I went to bathroom and noticed a small like 5mm pink fleshy piece of something when I wiped. I called epac again but they just told me it could be normal. Now my minds in overdrive because of my history and I feel like I shouldn’t be bleeding for so long and passing bits but they don’t seem too concerned as my hcg did go up, has anyone ever experienced something like this please and had a successful pregnancy finding it extremely hard to stay positive and can’t get a scan until my levels are in the thousands. Any advice please sorry for such a long post too xx
Dear Sarahjaylen1,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancies and losses, and of the worrying time you are going through.
Unfortunately I am not medically trained, however given your history of ectopic pregnancies, if the bleeding is worsening and especially if you start to feel abdominal pain, I would seek urgent medical advice.
It is very difficult to predict n a pregnancy with so few hCG levels, although it is encouraging that it increased. It is however concerning that your bleeding is worsening.
If you do not have an appointment for repeats levels soon, I would certainly push for them.
Sending much love and positive thoughts,
Karen x

Thank you for your reply I have contacted them multiple times to be told they won’t see me until early next month now because my hcg is not in the thousands they said they won’t repeat bloods or give me any sort of appointment unless I’m seriously unwell, I feel like a lost sheep with everything happening and they don’t seem to want to help me honestly feel like rubbish as to be honest I just really would like to know if my hcg does continue to rise or not and if it does why I’m bleeding all of the time it literally stops for about 3 hours each day then starts again I think I’m going to have to try a different service to try get some answers as to what’s causing the bleeding xx
Dear Sarahjaylen1,
I am so sorry to hear that you have having continued concerns and are still bleeding.
If you are in the UK are you able to see if your GP will do a hCG blood test to see how your levels are.
As pain is subjective as you are bleeding and have a history of ectopic pregnancy, I would certainly push for a test. I would advise calling your EPU or attending A&E at the slightest amount of abdominal discomfort.
I hope you get some answers soon,
Sending much love,
Karen x
