I am 5-6 weeks pregnant and yesterday experienced quite bad right ride pelvic pain so went to a and e. I have been worried as my pregnancy tests have only been getting darker very slowly and not lighter indicating my levels have plateaued. They did bloods and my hcg was only 280 which is too low for a pregnancy of 5-6 weeks. I have a scan later to see if they can see anything but I don’t imagine they will be able to at such low levels. I can’t believe this is happening again. I feel I’ve let my partner down. I worry that I will need more time off work and my colleagues will resent me. I’ve also had recurrent miscarriages and find myself hoping that this is just a miscarriage which is an awful thing to hope for.
Dear Amx,
I am so sorry to hear that you are going through such a difficult and worrying time.
I cannot emphasise enough that this is not your fault. You are not to blame. Work should be being supportive of you right now and if you need further time off work, you must take it. Your health and wellbeing is top priority.
You are among friends who understand the difficulty the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy brings.
I will be thinking of you for your scan and sending much love,
Karen x
