Hi I’ve had 3 ectopics to date, first oct 2013 right tube burst, tube removed then missed miscarriage Feb 2014, gave birth to my daughter June 2015, 2nd ectopic Nov 2016 which resolved itself & most recently 3rd ectopic Apr 2017 methotrexate. I managed to get them to refer me to specialist, she arranged for me to have the hsg dye test. It showed the dye running through my tube, all they told me was my tube was a bit inflamed. I’ve received letter off specialist saying she’s discharging me from her. Has anyone had an inflamed tube? I just want to know is there anything that can be done about it anti inflammotirues? Antibiotics? Cannot get through to specialist & I know my doctors probably won’t do much. Nothing has been explained! So annoyed any advice would be great xx
Dear L0llipop,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancies and losses and the difficult time you are experiencing, not having clear answers can be very frustrating.
Following ectopic pregnancy, the fallopian tube may remain blocked by the pregnancy tissue which can take some time to shrink and, occasionally, it may not shrink and will leave a blockage in the tube by way of a small cyst. However, as we do not have access to your medical notes and as I am not medically trained, it is very difficult to say what this inflammation is and if it will affect future chances of conception and I am sadly also unable to tell you if/how it can be treated.
If you are having difficulty contacting your consultant, I would advise speaking to your GP who has access to your medical notes so can advise you further or contact the consultant for further information on your behalf. If you have little faith in your GP, do not hesitate to see another GP in your practice who maybe more understanding.
Sending much love,
Karen x
