*ADVICE* 4w 5d pregnant experiencing sharp pain

Hi. I’m currently to 4w 5d pregnant.

I’m under the fertility specialist after previously having 2x ectopics one in the left and one in the right & 2x early miscarriages.

For the last 6 days I have been experiencing a sharp pain in my left abdomen however when pushing down on my tummy and around the area it is quite sensitive to touch.

I have taken a test everyday and the progression like is getting darker and darker everyday. I’m currently taking enoxiparin injections as I have APS.

My scan is booked for the 12th august as this is the earliest that they can get me in. EPAU and 111 have advised me that should the pain get worse to go to A&E.

Should I be concerned? The pain doesn’t go away and get more noticeable the more I move around. it’s almost like a sharp ache?

Hi AFryer,

I’m so sorry to hear that you are going through this worrying time. Unfortunately, I am not medically qualified to comment on your situation.

It is good that you are being monitored by doctors. As you are concerned, it’s worth following up with your GP. You may want to note down any pain associated with it, when it is more painful, and so on. You can also write down anything that helps the pain, including paracetamol, rest, hot water bottle, etc, and you could discuss your notes with your doctors. These details would help them determine how best to manage your symptoms.

Please know that these boards are a safe space for you, and as you recover, you are welcome to visit anytime. We are here for you as long as you need.

With good wishes,

Michele
