2 ectopics - Shall I try naturally again!

Hi Ladies,

I hope you are all well.

I haven’t visited this site in a while now, at least not since my last ectopic pregnancy.

A few years ago I went through a series of pregnancy challenges (to put it mildly) and sadly experienced 3 miscarriages and 2 ectopic pregnancies. It was a tough and sad time.

My first ectopic resulted in the loss of my right tube, my second ectopic was in my left tube but thankfully the surgeon managed to save the tube.

I decided at this point to not try again naturally and go down the IVF route. I was so grateful to finally carry a successful pregnancy and in June 2015 I gave birth to boy / girl twins. :o)

I’m now 43 and considering trying for another baby. Sounds a bit crazy I know but this is the ‘now or never’ so thought at the very least it is worth considering, gathering the risks and making a well informed decision.

I’ve been getting mixed opinions from healthcare professionals but I did read that an option would be to have a hysterosalpingogram.

If there is anyone out there who could offer advice I would be very grateful.

Thanks all :o) xxx

Dear Mollycat,

Sadly I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice on your queries.

I would advise speaking to your GP or asking to be referred to a fertility specialist who will have access to your medical notes and will be best to advise you on any possible investigations.

Sending much love,

Karen x
