Just back from an overnight horrible wait to be told that I have a second ectopic, in my remaining tube. First was years ago, ruptured, but thought with a planned and careful pregnancy that this time would be different. We’re so sad. Opting for mx medical management as only 6 weeks and small but don’t even know whether the tube is any good. Wondering if with the long wait to conceive after mx if it’s better to just go down the road of surgery and IVF. I’m 36 and feel like time is running out. I’m also in so much pain and because of the queens funeral I have to go through another night of agony before they’ll do anything. It just feels so unfair. We couldn’t be happier to start a family and knowing that it’s another long and difficult road ahead is so hard. I think I’m just looking for advice, experiences, anything that can help us through this.
Dear Like2Smile,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy losses. To experience one loss is difficult, dealing with multiple losses is heartbreaking and my heart truly goes out to you.
I also experienced my ectopic pregnancy over a bank holiday weekend and understand the fear and anxiety this caused. I hope you get more answers tomorrow.
It can be very daunting thinking about treatment and future fertility. Sadly there is no guarantee not experiencing an ectopic pregnancy even with IVF so I would advise speaking to your medical team about the best method of treatment for you.
Above all be kind to yourself and allow time to grieve, to heal both physically and emotionally.
Sending much love and warm hugs,
Karen x
