Worried

I am 3+6 pregnant and due on my period tomorrow (Friday 27th April).

2 days ago i had some bleeding. It wasn’t alot but caused some worry.

It was approx about 3 cm long, it was dark red to start off with. Within 1 and half it went pink then it went brown.

I went to my local gyne ward. I explained to them because i am a high risk of ectopic pregnancy i want to make sure i am ok. I had my bloods drawn and my hcg came back as 179 at 12dpo. They also checked my cervix and said that it is closed. But the blood was coming from the vagina itself.

I am going back to the epu again today to have my bloods drawn again to see of my hcg has risen. I am not sure if the bleeding was implantation bleeding :/. The bleeding has stopped now but my vagina has some remnants of brown blood still. The pad i wore had a small amount of blood on it (a few drops)

I am hoping for a miracle rainbow baby. My wife and I need some happiness and luck in our lives.

When i was pregnant with my daughter in 2004 i had the same sort of bleeding but at 7-9 weeks instead.

I have so far good news.

Bleeding has subsided and my hcg levels has risen from 179 to 452. This is excellent news.

Dear ClaireC82,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy, and I am pleased to hear your bloods have risen.

Speaking from UK medical practice and standards, usually doctors carry out an internal transvaginal scan at around six weeks with subsequent pregnancies after an ectopic. This is because there is a reasonable chance of seeing an embryo around this six week mark.

We advise contacting your local EPU, reminding them of your ectopic pregnancy and booking an appointment. If you are unable to self refer, contact your GP who will be able to do this for you.

Whilst I do not wish to alarm you, I sadly have to remind you that if you experience any unusual bleeding, abdominal pain, shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel problems or feel dizzy and unwell to seek urgent medical advice.

After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. When I next fell pregnant following my ectopic pregnancy, my mind started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have a friend here who understands how you are feeling.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Good morning

Some sad news. Unfortunately i miscarried our rainbow baby. He or she is now our angel baby.

My hcg was 452 last Thursday which more than doubled which was great. But by Tuesday my hcg plummeted down to 37. I was told this was not an ectopic pregnancy but a normal uterine pregnancy. But something went wrong. I miscarried on Tuesday night. The pain and bleeding was horrendous.

My hcg yesterday was 9.5.

I will be trying again but this time i will be taking a low dose of aspirin and maca root capsules to help with our next pregnancy. I am physically and emotionally ready to try again. I have had time to grieve.

I am now waiting to ovulate again so i can try again.

The reason why i was told by my gp it was a uterine pregnancy is because my hcg levels plummeted and not gradually falling.

I feel bad though as i have been trying for a baby now for years. I thought this pregnancy was the one but obviously it was not.

Maca root helps with hormonal balance and egg quality. The low dose Aspirin helps the blood to thin out.

I have had a few miscarriages. So i do think i have a blood clotting problem. But my gp has said there is no harm taking a low dose aspirin when trying for a baby or during pregnancy
