I had an ectopic sept 2019 and had a positive test 5 days, I have an early scan on Tuesday. What can I expect to see and how often were people scanned on a newmpregnancy after ectopic?
Dear Brill88,
Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy.
In the UK doctors usually carry out an internal transvaginal scan at around six weeks with subsequent pregnancies after an ectopic. This is because there is a reasonable chance of seeing an embryo around this six week mark.
Sometimes it is still very early in the pregnancy and although an embryo can be viewed, sometimes it is too early to view a heart beat, but this can be normal at this stage.
I will be sending positive thoughts for tomorrow,
Karen x
