Hi. I am 20 days post mtx shot. My levels have been declining steadily as they were at 721 last week. (Waiting on this week’s results) I just want to be reminded of rupture symptoms more to ease my mind. I was using the restroom about an hour ago and heard a pop and felt the “pop” right at the spot on my fallopian tube. Before I was feeling fine, but since I have shooting pain down my leg and a pulled muscle feeling near my hip joint. I have not had any other symptoms of rupture (shoulder pain, difficulty of breathing, etc.) My doctor insists if I had rupture I would be immediately doubled over in pain and the pain would be so severe I would know. I am not not severe pain, it feels more just like a pulled muscle in my abdomen. Is it possible to rupture without severe pain?
Idk?
Im 1 month post methotrexate and i have had bouts of HORRIBLE pain off and on for the last month (mass is still there) . Like you outside of the pain i had no other symptoms of rupture. I just took some pain meds and waited it out.
My doctor always advised me if the pain is bad to go IMMEDIATELY to the hospital.
I think you pretty much know the textbook answer foe what does a rupture feel like. Im not sure if there is a such thing as a slow leak or full on rupture. Always want to error on The side of caution.
Best of luck and a speedy recovery.
Dear Lankfordsn123,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss.
General symptoms of rupture include unusual bleeding, abdominal pain, shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel problems or feeling dizzy and unwell. We all experience pain and symptoms differently however, we have had posts from women who had very little pain.
As you are experiencing unusual pain, I would urge you to seek urgent medical advice as sadly there remains a risk of rupture at decreasing and low levels.
As GP surgeries are now closed, please speak to you out of hours medical service, in most areas in England this is done by calling 111.
Although I do not wish to alarm you, if your pain increases or you feel unwell, please attend your local A&E.
Being reviewed tonight will at least put your mind at rest.
Sending much love and warm hugs
Karen x
