Swollen, hard stomach

Hi, i am 18days post op from ectopic & 1 tube removal. My stitches/scars are healing well but my stomach is hard, constantly hard not squishy. There isn’t a great deal of discomfort when touching my belly but just wondering if anyone else can share abit of light from their surgeries?
Thanks

Hi Stephrr31,

Unfortunately, I am not medically trained, so I cannot give you specific advice on your symptoms.

Generally speaking, symptoms of bloating should settle after around 6 weeks. Experiencing some pain after an ectopic pregnancy is normal, as your body has been through a great deal.

I usually advise you to keep a diary of the pain, noting when you get it, its intensity and if anything helps. However, as you are getting constant sensations, I would advise talking to your doctor again; informing the doctor of how it is affecting your daily life or if it is affecting you emotionally at all will help them see how much the pain is affecting you. They may then look at further investigations.

Please know we are here for you whenever and for as long as you need.

With good wishes,

Michele
