Story of hope

I wanted to share my story of hope with you. I hope it’s helpful and doesn’t come across as anything other than that. After what happened to me in March, I trawled these forums to look for positive tales and hoped that I could be one.

In March I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy- due to some poor medical advice, I had to have an emergency salpingectomy and laparotomy. I lost 2 litres of blood and almost my life. It was the most horrific and terrifying experience of my life and of that of my families. If you are reading this then I know you will understand and I don’t need to explain anymore.

We were very scared to try again and also was told it would be difficult. I’m 38.

However, bring forward to August and I’m now 8 weeks pregnant. I even ovulated from the side with the missing tube. It’s all a total miracle.

I pressed for an early scan and it’s in the right place. I did have to be quite pushy with my GP etc- my experience has led me to always question.

I want you to know that it can happen. I know it’s early and feels too good to be true but there is hope ladies. Xx

Dear Src,

Congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you so much for taking the time to post, it will give such hope to so many.

Wishing you an uneventful pregnancy and sending warm hugs,

Karen x
