Shoulder tip pain - No rupture?

Did anyone have shoulder tip pain after their ectopic resolved but no rupture?

It’s causing me to be depressed but I’ve even paid for a private scan and they can’t see anymore free fluid than what I already had

Dear Bis,

Although you paid for a private scan, I would urge you to speak to the medical team who have been reviewing you if your symptoms continue or worsen,

Sending much love,

Karen x

Thanks Karen. I have but they seem to believe it is not related to the ectopic even though I only had it during my ectopic. I don’t know where to go from here

Hi Bis123

I’m sorry for your loss and the trauma you’re going through in recovery.

For me, if I focus on my ankle long enough I can make it hurt. I knew shoulder tip pain was a common side effect of a rupture as they ask you about it on every hospital trip. So the ENTIRE time I had HCG levels up I had pain in my shoulder from stress and anxiety really. I am NO doctor and I don’t know the terminology but the pain in your shoulder is when internal bleeding gets to your diaphragm as it shares the same artery (or vein or something) and the doctor said you wouldn’t question it you would just KNOW.

I am in no way saying this is in your head, your pain and experiences are absolutely valid and I would keep putting the pressure on until you feel completely comfortable that you are not rupturing. The doctors see this day in and day out and honestly, they forget we are human beings scared and in pain and just see us as objects and I have had so little compassion through out this entire process.

I just wanted to share my experience in the hope it brings you comfort, my pain stopped the moment the risk of rupture was gone. But as for advice, I’d keep at the doctor and potentially ask for a second opinion from one of their other practitioners to completely rule out anything sinister.

Keep your chin up and keep as posted with how you get on! Xx

Hi again,

I’ve just seen your other post on here from Tuesday around pain and ectopic.

It’s odd that you’d experience shoulder tip pain when your risk of rupture has essentially gone as your HCG levels are back to ‘not pregnant’ levels and you’ve had a negative test.

In this private scan, when you say they can’t see anymore free fluid than what you already had, do you mean the same free fluid is there or that there is no longer free fluid?

I would rest up, be kind to yourself, try not to stress and just keep a look out for those symptoms that Karen mentioned on your other thread.

You’ll be ok <3 keep putting the pressure on the doctors if it’s continues much longer or worsens. Xxx

You did bring me comfort! Thank you so much. I do believe that some of it might be in my head. This had just been a traumatic experience for me. I went from thinking I wasn’t pregnant to having a miscarriage to an ectopic in 3 days so I think my mental health has suffered a lot

The same free fluid is still present but I do still have a sore/stinging pain around my pelvic area and my stomach looks like I’m pregnant/bloated or swelling which seems to get worse and then better so I’m just so confused with everything. I feel like they discharged me and never gave me any advice (which lead to my mind running wild).

I do have an appointment with a private gynae soon and I’m hoping that will bring me peace. I also know I’m currently ovulating so it’s good to know that my body is healing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me

Sorry for reviving this thread. Did anyone try CBD for their pain?
