Hi I had key hole surgery the 19th November due to an ectopic pregnancy. I think I’ve been suffering with shoulder pain ever since bit ive really nlticed it the last 3 weeks some days is worse than others I was ok this morning but now It really hurts it’s not so much if I lift my arm etc but when I turn , lean or bend over . I can also feel the pain in my shoulder worsen slightly when i breathe in.
It’s was 3 months ago now though is it at all possible that it’s something to do with the ectopic and the surgery? I don’t know if it’s worth mentioning I was bleeding internally for 3 days before the surgery and had a drain fitted as apparently I had blood present around my shoulders and lungs etc ??
Don’t want to ring doctors and waste anyone’s time if it’s not important and just one of those things.
Dear Mrsbettyrabbit,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Sadly I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice on your symptoms. We can experience aches and pains in places we do not expect following surgery, however as you have mentioned you had a drain due to a heavy bleed, I would recommend getting reviewed by your doctor. At the very least, it will put your mind at rest.
Sending much love,
Karen x
