scar tissue removed

Hi there.

Just wondered if anyone knows how likely it is to get pregnant naturally after having scar tissue removed from around an ovary and fallopian tube? I had a ep last year on the left, (expectant management). Then another in Feb on the right, that required surgery and removal of the right tube. While they were in they cut away some scar tissue from the left. I saw the pics and it made quite a big difference, and the surgeon seemed impressed with himself! However he said that more scar tissue could form in the healing process. (As a side note I really liked my surgeon, he explained things really well).

A few weeks later I had my follow up with a different consultant and asked about checking how the left side had healed. I was told that they have to assume it is ok until we’ve been trying for a year. So we’re 3 cycles in. Which is actually about 4 months due to my long cycles. And af has just arrived (after a bit of a false alarm at the weekend).

In looking for some tips on conceiving I’ve just read that if you have irregular periods you shouldn’t put off being tested (but I don’t know if this is to check I’m ovulating, which I know I am, that’s not my issue). Now I don’t know whether to go back to my GP to ask again. I don’t mind trying for a year if it’s likely to work but not if it’s just delaying moving onto looking into ivf (which I’d have to fund myself so need to get budgeting! )

I guess I’d just be interested to know if anyone else has been in the same situation and conceived without IVF. Or some advice from any of the ept staff.

thanks

K

Hello! I just made a post asking something similar. I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies now. My right tube was removed and my left was treated with Methotrexate - I was wondering the same… if there was anyone out there that went on to have a normal pregnancy after an ectopic in the same tube. I will follow your post too to see the replies you get!! Best of luck to you

Hi tifflw82. Sorry to hear you’re in a similar situation to me, with 2 ectopics. Hopefully one of our posts will get an answer. Or hope even more that we can have successfully pregnancies some time soon x

Oops, tifflw86 sorry
