Hello All,
I was treated with methotrexate for a suspected ectopic pregnancy in my left tube in September 2016. I was spotting brown the entire time, but not other symptoms until after treatment. After treatment, I had pain on my left side and increased bleed for a couple days. After that, I could feel when I ovulated from my left side because it hurt so bad, so I started to do fertility massages (probably not often enough). The massages decrease the pain to nearly normal during ovulation. However, this last cycle I could feel it on my left side. A couple weeks later (St Partick’s Day) I tested positive for pregnancy. Friday the lines were very faint, Saturday I did a digital that was positive, Sunday I had a dark line. Ever since, I have a dull pain on my left side off and on. I haven’t had any spotting, and have experienced some hardening in the middle (uterus) area. Last night and this morning, the pain on the left side seems to be slightly more intense. I go in for my first appointment tomorrow morning. I am only 4 weeks + 5 days, so it is likely too early for a transvaginal ultrasound.
Has anyone experience similar symptoms? What was your outcome?
Hi I expirenced similar symptoms I had a pul last April and was treated with methotrexate. I then fell pregnant again and I expirenced pain on my lower left side the same as my ectopic. I also had cramping and was filled with panic and fear. Minute I tested positive I booked in with my epau and they did my hcg levels and then repeated them and they more than doubled. I was 5 weeks +1 when they found the start of the yolk sac heart beat was detected at 6 weeks 1 day. Wishing you all the best of luck and I hope everything goes well. I know it’s a nerve wrecking time xx

Danielle,
Thank you so much for your encouraging story! It really means a lot to me. I hope I too have a positive outcome.
Would you mind sharing details of the pain you felt? How far along were you? Was it constant, or off and on? When did the pain stop? Do you know which side you ovulated from?
Thank you again so much for sharing your positive story and Congratulations!!
Of course. My pain was like a stabbing pain low down on my left side it sometimes made my leg go numb at the top. I expirenced the the pain around 5 weeks. Although I expirenced it on the left they reckon my ectopic was on the right which I was told can happen. I constantly panicked telling my fiance that I recognised the pain and it felt the exact same as it did with the ectopic. I literally was in tears every evening untill the lead up to the week of our appointments. My pains stopped around 8 weeks or so. Although I’ve experiencedone cramping the whole way through this pregnancy and at times ovary pain on my right ovary. I’ve had cysts on my ovaries which all burst in their own. I ovulated from the right side. Have you had your hcg levels taken yet?
Thankyou I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant which I never expected to happen for a long time. So there’s always hope. Xx
Yay! That is very exciting! Congrats again!
I had my bloods for the first time today, 6,463 at 5w+2d
My bloods today we’re over 14,900 (more than doubled in 48 hrs) and both u/still showed a yolk and gestational sac in the uterus. Over the moon with relief.
Danielle, Thank you again for sharing!
