Pregnant after tubal removal ectopic.

My first pregnancy was a tubal ectopic back in November which was treated with surgery. The worst pain me and my partner have ever felt. Fast forward to August this year and I had taken a pregnancy test 3 days before my period was due, I had no symptoms at all but felt like something was telling me to take one. And I did and I got a very faint positive, I couldn’t believe it. So i had taken another 6!! Positive tests, and it was real. Then I had to wait 2 weeks 3 days for a 6 week scan and it was the longest wait ever, I was constantly worrying if I would have to get my other tube taken out too incase it was another ectopic. So I had my scan, and my little baby was in the right place, measuring at the right size with a little flickering heartbeat, I’m now 7w1d, and still hoping everything goes well. But I just wanted to say, I never ever thought I would fall pregnant again after the ectopic, and I can’t believe it. Just keep up hope and I promise no matter what Happens, all will be okay  Baby dust to everyone reading this! You got this :)! Ps. This website helped me so much in knowing I wasn’t alone in my ectopic, such an amazing thing to do, so Thankyou to everyone running it!!

Hi Meg1,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It was so good to read your post today. I had an ectopic and had my left tube removed in May this year. It was my first pregnancy so we were devastated and because I’d also had methotrexate prior to surgery (it didn’t work), we had to wait 3 months before trying again. Our 3 month wait ended in August and yesterday I found out I am 4 weeks pregnant. It feels like a miracle after what has been a very traumatic time.

I’ve booked my 6 week scan for a week on Friday (I’ll be 6 weeks that day) and I’m already anxious at the thought of bad news again.

Positive stories like this really help and I’m hoping I have the same news as you in 2 weeks time.

These forums have honestly been a crutch for me for the last few months, so thank you!

Keep us updated!

Thankyou so much! Congratulations to you too! Its an amazing feeling but such a scary time, and I know exactly how you’re feeling, I had a couple of niggles in my side with the tube too a few days before my 6 week scan so I was hoping for the worst but thankfully all was good. I’m going to keep everything I have crossed for you. There’s more of a chance of it being in the right place than being another ectopic so I hope that brings you a little peace of mind. I’ll make sure I keep this thread updated with how everything is going, and you too, let us know how it goes!

Thank you! I will do x

Big congratulations to you both!!

I posted on here just last week in search of these positive stories!

I was diagnosed with an ectopic in June. Due to the coronavirus(And the hospital not wanting to have an “unnecessary scan” it was quite far along. Still they decided methotrexate could work… it didn’t. 48 hours later my tube ruptured and I was rushed in for surgery. So now I’m down to 1 tube and as we are in September our 3 month conception ban has been lifted

I’ve done everything by the book for the last 3 months… healthy eating. Exercise and Daily 5mg doses of folic acid. Praying I can join your club very soon! Xxx

I’m so Sorry to hear that, big hugs to you! I’m wishing you the best of luck. I was very doubtful I would ever get pregnant again and I’d read everyone’s success story’s and I couldn’t help thinking that would never be me so please don’t give up, I’m keeping everything crossed for you too! Please keep us updated too, good luck to you

Dear Meg,

Congratulations on your pregnancy, that really is great news. Thank you also for taking the time to let us know, you can see already the hope it brings.
