Pregnant after ectopic and feel sure it's a 2nd ectopic

Hi All,

I had a mmc in Jan and then ectopic in March this year. I am now pregnant again (only 4 weeks) but I am having lots of aches on the side where my previous ectopic was (treated with methotrexate). I am sure it is another ectopic with the specific pains and likelihood my etopic was due to my endometriosis. If it is another ectopic I will have the tube removed (if in the same one). Just struggling to get through these 2 weeks before I can have my scan at epu to confirm and move forward!!

I just needed to air my feelings in an arena where you unfortunately will I am sure understand the anxiety!

Dear HET1,

After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. I also felt twinges and aches after my ectopic pregnancy, particularly when I next felt pregnant. My mind started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have a friend here who understands how you are feeling.

Having said this, if you are concerned about the pain you are experiencing please speak to your GP who maybe able to organise an earlier scan or blood tesrs. As pain is subjective it is difficult to advise, however if it worsens or you experience worsening bleeding, develop abdominal pain or shoulder tip pain or feel dizzy and unwell please seek urgent medical advice.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Dear HET1,

This is great news, and I will continue to send positive thoughts.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this and give hope to so many,

Sending much love,

That’s great news. I really hope this works out for you.

I only exactly how you feel after suffering a MMC in January too and then an ectopic this summer. You just can’t have the same excitement as you would if you hadn’t gone through these ordeals. Protecting yourself and not getting too optimistic.

I’m yet to start trying again yet and feel very scared.

Best of luck. I really hope this one sticks.

P.S. also it’s really reassuring to hear you explain feeling aches and pains and it isn’t another ectopic. The aches and pains really worry me.
