Pregnant after cornual ectopic?

Hi all,

I’m posting on here in a bid to get some inspiration / hope!! In December 2010 (when I was 20 y/o) I suffered from a cornual ectopic. I was treated with 2 MTX jabs and the HCG levels dropped until the remainder of the baby passed through me. It was a horrific experience. Since then I have been on the pill and not actively trying for a baby. That said, I am getting to an age now where I am thinking about starting a family and am putting it off for fear of it happening again. I am absolutely petrified of going through that horror again.

Has anyone here had a cornual ectopic pregnancy and gone on to have babies healthily?

Thanks girls xx

Hi Dream90,

I’m so sorry that you’ve been through a cornual ectopic pregnancy. Having been through that situation myself, I know how scary that can be. While I’m not medically qualified and cannot comment on your specific situation, I can say that it is possible to conceive and deliver after a cornual ectopic pregnancy. You may want to speak with your GP about any risk factors, the appropriate time to TTC after going off birth control, and about any concerns you have.

TTC to conceive after an ectopic pregnancy can bring up a lot of emotions. It’s normal to feel anxious about getting pregnant; I still have those similar feelings. It’s important to know that support is here for you, and that with another pregnancy, you can self-refer to the EPU for an early scan, around six weeks.

With good wishes,

Michele
