Please tell me im paranoid

Hello all,

A little history on myself I had an ectopic pregnant back in august that ruptured and I ended up having to have my left tube completely removed. Now fast forward til today and I have found out that I am pregnant again. today I am 5w1d. So heres my worries I fell about a week ago I live in mn so the snow is slippery but anyway and I fell more towards my left side. Well im noticing today I have some lower back pain but its on my left side kind of like where I fell but I landed mostly on my butt In the fall so I don’t think the pain is from that. I know lower back pain is a sign of ep but im trying to be optimistic hoping that perhaps since the pain is the same side as the tube that has already been removed. iS that a cause to worry considering its on the side where theres no tube for a baby to implant at? Someone please help me out. I haven’t had a chance to talk to my doctor yet, but im fearing I should put in an emergency call. what is you guys opinion

Dear rockstarlove9,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,

I’m sorry to hear of your fall and worries. Sadly I am not medically trained and although your pain could well be from your fall, I would suggest discussing your symptoms with your health care professional, reminding them of your previous ectopic pregnancy.

Although I do not wish to alarm you, if you experience any bleeding, worsening abdominal pain or begin to feel unwell, we advise to seek urgent medical advice.

Sending positive thoughts and warm hugs,

Karen x

Hi there. I would say if you’re not experiencing bleeding that you should be okay, but I’m not a doctor. Lower back pain after a fall is really common, regardless of whether you’re pregnant or not! I highly recommend going to see a chiropractor or massage therapist to get your body straightened out. The internal body is much stronger than we think. I had a friend who was in a car accident during her early pregnancy and the baby was fine. I have been seeing my chiropractor and massage therapist regularly throughout my pregnancy and that has helped so much with hip/back pain. They may be able to put your mind at ease - they can tell you if your bones/muscles are out of whack and that could be what is causing your pain. Best of luck to you.
