Hi everyone, I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar?
I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy back in 2014, which resulted in me having to have emergency surgery to remove my left fallopian tube; ever since then, both ovulation and periods are agonising! I have seen several doctors, but they’ve all basically dismissed me… They have done ultrasounds and blood tests etc., but despite me asking, they’ve never given me a test for tube blockage/scar tissue. I can’t afford to go private right now.
The doctors keep telling me that there’s nothing wrong, but I never had this type of pain/discomfort prior to the ectopic. I have also suffered many miscarriages since, and a stillbirth the year before the ectopic. It’s not only heartbreaking, but also debilitating.
I’d just like to know whether or not anyone else is in the same boat?
Thanks in advance.
Dear Matallikazz,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and losses,
I experienced my ectopic pregnancy in 2010 and still experience ovulation pain when I didn’t before my ectopic. I know of many women who do and we hear from many women just like yourself. I must say, that my pain isn’t excruciating however.
I am sorry but we are unable to provide individualized advice but can I suggest keeping a diary of when you feel the pain, what pain relief you take and if it works a s how it impacts on your life. If it is significant, you could ask for a referral to gynaecology or if you are trying to concieve, to a fertility specialist to investigate further for you.
Sending much love,
Karen x
