Nearly 3 weeks post op advice pls if anyone can help.

Hi All.

I had emergency surgery on 2nd may for ruptured left ectopic with 1.5l of internal bleeding.

I’m still feeling extremely nauseous and having some sharp pain on the opposite side. Have had two lots of bloods and they said my liver function is still high. Waiting on call back from gp buy was wondering if anyone has had experience of this?? Really want everything to settle down so I can get to grips with everything.

Any advice appreciated.

Much love to everyone on this forum I’m finding it a great source getting me through this.

Hi Rach83,

I’m so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss, and that you are continuing to go through this worrying time. Firstly, as you are having concerns it’s good that you are contacting your GP for follow-up questions. It is always better to get checked out to be on the safe side and as I am not medically qualified to give a definitive opinion.

However, in general, it can be very normal to feel abdominal pains after treatment for ectopic pregnancy. With surgery, your body has been through a huge trauma and will need time to heal. The pain you are feeling could be due to your body healing or as a result of adhesions or scar tissue which forms as part of the recovery process. It might also be as a result of heightened awareness after your ordeal. To assist, you could keep a pain diary too noting when you experience the pain and where, its intensity and anything that helps like rest or pain relief. You can take these notes with you to the appointment and the details will help your doctors best manage your symptoms.

With good wishes,

Michele

I’m sorry to hear. I’m 3 weeks post op of having my right tube out. I ended up having one key hole surgery where the found nothing and caused an allergic reaction inside me and sent me home saying I was fine. Then a second one 2 weeks later as my HGG carried on rising and I was in a lot of pain where they found my bowels and some organs had stuck together and twisted from an allergic reaction from the first surgery and that I had an etopic pregnancy in my right tube. I’ve now got key hole scar and a scar from above my belly button to my pelvic. I’m having pain in my hip bone it feels really sharp. Is this the same as you? X
