Hi all
Thanks for providing this informative and safe space
I am 33 and have a 4 year old son
I have an ectopic pregnancy in my left tube and was grateful to have found it early
I had MTX on Friday 17th Feb, my HCG levels were 2800 when I had it, my HCG levels by day 4 shot up to 6500 so I had an emergency scan and they confirmed the pregnancy was still only 1cm so was allowed to hold my nerve and continue to day 7, on day 7 my bloods dropped to 5500 which is promising it’s a drop but not as much as they’d hoped, I am having another blood test on day 10 to ensure they’ve dropped again…
My experience with MTX has been as positive as you could hope, I felt nauseous and wiped out but have managed to continue life quite normally despite the crippling anxiety of rupture, I had a pinching pain in my left side but nothing crippling
I’m on day 9 today and have just started bleeding and having mild cramps
Wishing anyone going through an ectopic pregnancy a promising recovery xx
Dear jtaylor,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss,
Although bleeding and cramping is to be expected with methotrexate, if this worsens or you feel dizzy and unwell or develop shoulder tip pain, please seek urgent medical as although I do not wish to alarm you, these can be signs of rupture.
I will be thinking of you tomorrow and hope you’ve have had another drop in hCG
Sending much love,
Karen x
