I hate to ask this, but has anyone had an MVA proceedure for missed miscarriage- it’s surgical management under local anaesthetic and I hadn’t heard of it until today. Being forced to make a horrible choice about how I miscarry and I think this time I’d rather get it over with quickly rather than waiting or using the pill/pessaries, which I’ve also used before and which left me bleeding profusely and rushing into hospital. I have the leaflet and it sounds painful, but quick and I don’t need general anaesthetic - which never agrees with me.
Any experiences people could share - if it’s not too much to ask. I appreciate not everyone wants to talk about this.

Hello Fin
I’m really sorry none of the hosts were able to get to your message earlier, and so very sorry to hear your news. It is hard enough to deal with the loss of a pregnancy let alone having to make decisions about how to miscarry. I’m afraid I can’t give you any advice about this, and you seem to have researched your options well, but want you to know that the choice you make will be right for you. And even if you decided to wait, and then after a week or so decide to take another route, that is right for you too. There is no problem with delaying a decision, and equally if you want to get the physical side of this over with quickly, that is a perfectly reasonable decision too.
I’m sorry I’m no help whatsoever, but wanted to send you best wishes and support for whatever you do decide.
Kind regards
