Hi,
I had my eptopoc pregnancy in November. I had two shots of methotrexate and my levels dropped to zero in December. I had a normal period exactly four weeks later on Dec 26th and again January 26th. Then February can and NOTHING. I panicked that I was pregnant and did 4 tests all negative. I’m now due on again and worried it won’t come again. Has anybody else had the same thing? Would really appreciate views as can’t find anything online xx
Dear Charliea87,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
It is very common for periods to be irregular following ectopic pregnancy and treatment with methotraxate. Personally my periods took about 4 months to get into a cycle that was more normal for me.
Periods can be delayed for a number of reasons including stress or even (as surprising as it may sound) excessive exercise or weight loss. Doctors normally consider menstrual cycles of between 23-42 days to be within normal parameters. If your period does not arrive after 42 days since the first day of your last period, I would suggest asking your doctors to investigate further. Also, while I do not want to alarm you, if you experience any pain or unusual bleeding, please do get medical attention as soon as you can.
Sending much love,
Karen x

Hi thank you for your advice. I phoned the gynae word at the hospital where I had been treated and the ward sister told me that they wouldn’t investigate I until I missed three periods. Do you think I should go to the doctors anyway? Xx
Dear Charliea87,
Unfortunately I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice on your query.
If you remain concerned, I would recommend talking to your doctor. If nothing else, it will put your mindthat you are under the radar of medical professionals. I would also suggest keeping a diary of any symptoms- pain, vaginal discharge, any bleeding at all, and taking this information with you.
Sending much love,
Karen x
