Methotrexate and folic acid levels

Is it possible to go to the doctor’s for a blood test to check folic acid levels? I want to be sure they are right before trying again.

Thank you in advance

Dear Rushbury,

It is not common practice to check folic acid levels after methotrexate injection.

With Methotrexate, you should wait until your hCG levels have fallen to below 5mIU/mL (your doctor will advise you when this is through blood tests) and then take a folic acid supplement for 12 weeks before you try to conceive.

There is more information on vitamins and folic acid whilst TTC and during pregnancy here-

Sending much love,
