I have low hcg levels, possibly 4/5 wks pregnant,
24th was 138
26th was 169
1st was 246
3rd was 306
Hospital is saying levels are so low and not doubling that pregnancy won’t continue, and possibly ectopic
They want me to have injection to dissolve pregnancy, just don’t know what to do
So sorry to hear this. It’s such a difficult and confusing time.
Have they confirmed ectopic? If not insist that they do, they absolutely should not assume anything. If you’re only 4 weeks a pregnant, it might not be big enough to see on a scan, but it’s worth trying. It is important to treat an ectopic pregnancy as early as possible but they need to be certain.
I’ve read that in 85% of normal pregnancies, the HCG will double every 48-72 hours. But that does not mean this is how it goes for everyone. Don’t be pushed into something you’re not sure about.
