I had an ectopic pregnancy in April and had surgery to remove one of my Fallopian tubes. Since then I have had infection after infection, mainly BV and thrush. It seems every time it clears up and I then have intercourse, the infection comes back a couple of days later. My partner has had a full check and he is all clear. So fed up of it all now as it just delays trying for a baby again.
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss an continued troubles.
Thrush and BV both tend to occur when there is a change in the pH of the vagina. This can be caused by intercourse, over washing the vaginal area or douching or use of perfumed products and even variations in the menstrual cycle amongst other causes.
Recurrence of symptoms is sadly (and annoyingly) not uncommon, I would discuss this further with your doctors as you can get longer courses of treatment which may help.
Sending much love,
Karen x

I’m sorry for what you’re going through. I am actually going through something similar right now. This is my first month of TTC since my ectopic and today is the day I should ovulate so very keen to try especially today. But last night, I couldn’t sleep because of pain down there with a bit of blood in the tissue and constantly needing the toilet (sorry TMI). I did have a phase when I would get a UTI every time I’d be intimate. But after that, I learned all the tricks to minimise the risk of infection. And now, after maybe 5 years without infection, and when I need to keep infection at bay more than ever, i get another one (though not yet confirmed, planning to go see the doctor today) which means I’ll miss out on my fertility window this month. I can’t try next month so I’ll only be able to try again in September. I’m turning 37 in October so I feel like I’m racing against time! And I know who will be losing already!

Has anyone had anything similar?
I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. Dealing with infections can be incredibly frustrating, especially when it interferes with your plans and desires.
