I had a ruptured tubal pregnancy in January which resulted in having my right tube removed I found out I was pregnant again on the 31st March and was rushed into surgery yesterday where they discovered that the stump of my right tube swollen and bleeding. Why would they have left part of my tube for it to happen again in which I nearly died and now I’m so scared of getting pregnant again but I really want another baby
Hi LaurenG,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss, and now that you are going through this worrying time. You have experienced emotional and physical trauma, and your rupture was not so long ago. Many of us continue to have concerns about ttc following our ectopic pregnancies. I also had my right tube rupture and the 2nd ectopic was in the stump of where it was removed. It seems like such an impossibility, but it does happen.
I want to encourage you to take time for yourself right now. The emotions of ttc and becoming pregnant vary by each woman and its important to take good care of yourself. It is so important to take things in your own time.
I would encourage you to continue to ask questions of and for clarification from your doctors. Be sure to write them down as you think of them, so you don’t forget. In my case, my two ectopics preceded both of my children, so there is hope for conception.
Please know that we are here for you throughout your journey and for as long as you need.
With good wishes,
Michele
