I have a BFP and have early scan booked in

After having an ectopic pregnancy at the beginning of the year, which was treated with methotrexate. we discovered at the weekend that I am now pregnant again! I have called EPAU and I am now booked in for an early scan next saturday!! fingers crossed everything is ok!! I pray it is and this time things are different to previously no bleeding so, so far so good xx

Dear xxnic87xx,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy.

After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. I certainly didn’t feel I could relax until after my six week scan, you have friends here who understand.

I will be thinking of you next Saturday.

Sending warm hugs and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Xongrats that gives me hope! Thanks for sharing.

I was treated 1 month ago with methotrexate and the mass is still there. Im worried the mass will take months to resolve. My hcg levels are slowly declining.

Did you jave a follow up ultrasound to see if/ when mass resolved?

My mass was there a month after HCG -5 and I’m due another one this month (3 months later) to see if it’s shrunk/gone.

Thanks its been 2 months for me it has gotten smaller but still there. Have you ttc yet? I havent gotten my 2nd af yet. Did you af return to normal? Idk what to expect hoping it comes by nov 5th.

Just realised we on a few threads together ha! I had no period for 5 months after coming off pill and didn’t even know I was pregnant. Right now I’m ovulating on day 22 of 34 day cycle. Periods are also quite short. Suppose body is just getting back on track.

I ovulated today!!! Im soooo excited because that means my “2nd” af is about 2 weeks away. Sounds like you have a good luteal phase. My luteal phase ranges from 11- 14 days. My cycle has NOT been like clock work but i attribute that to breastfeeding and weaning in MAY and now ectopic pregnancy in Aug.

I ovulated from my ectopic side today and the mass is still in my tube. Im hoping ovulation next month comes from my “good side” and we catch it. And get bfp for my daugthers 2nd b day that would be AWESOME!!

That’s great. You could always try Vitex if your cycle is still out of whack but I’d talk to a naturopath first.

Just to follow up- just had scan 6 months after first diagnosed and it’s now 6mm. However I didn’t use medication.

6mm is pretty small

Considering my ectopic measured at 30 mm or 3 cm

My tube did get inflamed and it got up to about 6cm.

So im assuming 6mm is a lot smaller than the original size.

Yeah mine was originally 25mm and 3 months ago was 11mm so at least it’s going in the right direction.

hii how you know from which side you are ovulating ? i didnot know that i need chek with ultrasaund after 6 month:( i ttried without check and now i am scared i will make day aftet tommorow test and i feel pains on ectopic side

:expressionless:

Dear Nanuka,

There are no tests that I am aware of that tell us what side we are ovulating from. Some women experience discomfort/pain during ovulation and can therefore tell what side that have ovulated from.

It is not routine for women to be scanned following ectopic pregnancy either. Depending on how you were treated for your ectopic pregnancy, we advise a waiting period of two menstrual cycles or 12 weeks of taking folic acid (if you were treated with methotraxate injection) before trying to conceive and this is generally also allows time for any mass to be naturally reabsorbed.

Sending much love,

Karen x
