Hi Manders,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I had a ruptured ectopic one year ago today. We didn’t start trying again until February and I was convinced as I had lost my right tube I wasn’t able to have kids naturally. My husband was incredibly supportive and gave me the space when I needed it and cuddles when I needed those. Every month was hell thinking maybe this month before af arrived and destroyed the dream, I tried using ovulation sticks but they made me so stressed I decided in May that I needed to just get back to being me and stop focusing on the baby and remember to enjoy my life. I was lucky with an incredible group of friends, some of whom knew, some of whom didn’t but they got me back going out and about. I then found out at the start of July I was pregnant. Actually made me terrified that it was all going to happen again, I had to see two different doctors to get an early scan but at 8 weeks I was finally told the baby was in the right place this time. I am now 22 weeks pregnant and although we’ve had other complications everything is going well at the moment. It will happen and you will get there as people kept saying to me (although at the time I wanted to hit them) at least you know you can get pregnant which a lot of people struggle with. I don’t think I would have coped well if I had got pregnant straight away, I needed time to grieve and to get some of my life back to normal. Anyway I just wanted to share my story and wish you the very best of luck in your journey whatever you decide to do. xxxx
Thank u so much for sharing ur story, congratulations and hope all goes well X hopefully it will all work out well for me also xx
I had an ectopic and tube removed in September 2009. We had been trying 12months when this happened. I had tubal damage diagnosed at the time of the ectopic surgery and was operated on in November 2009 to try and repair and flush my remaining tube.
We started trying straight away at the advice of our surgeon as he thought following the dye studies was our best chance to conceive.
We were about to start IVF when I found out I was pregnant naturally in September 2010. It was 10 cycles post the November surgery.
My daughter was born in March 2011 and as we expected to have trouble conceiving we didn’t prevent after her birth. I had another 2 pregnancies in 2013 that ended in a m/c and went on to have my son 3yrs9months after my daughter was born.
Much to our surprise whilst we were preventing another pregnancy and waiting for my husband to have a vasectomy I found out when my son was 10months I am pregnant again. His now 11months and I am 10weeks pregnant.
I got my BFP 6 weeks after my surgery to remove one tube due to an ectopic. Needless to say this wasn’t as the doctor recommended but he is a very healthy 20month old and it was a trouble free pregnancy.
I’m just posting this as a warning as it can be quick!!!
