Hi i had an ectopic pregnancy 4 weeks ago, and i had surgery to remove my tube, i did my blood test last week - 3 weeks after surgery, my hcg level is 15, do i need to be worried.
Dear Sm2304,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Following ectopic pregnancy, it can take a few weeks for hCG levels to fall to non pregnant levels, which may explain your levels.
Your surgery was just under a month ago and it maybe possible that blood tests are still showing hCG from ectopic pregnancy. However, as I am not medically trained I am unable to comment on your specific situation. I presume your medical team have advised completing further blood tests to ensure that your levels continue to reduce.
Whilst I do not wish to alarm you, I thought I’d mention that before having a period you have to ovulate and it is possible to become pregnant without having a proper period first, if you are not using contraception. So if there is any chance you could be pregnant please let your medical team know and if you experience any worsening bleeding, abdominal pain shoulder tip pain or feel dizzy and unwell please seek urgent medical advice.
Sending much love,
Karen x
