HcG high 5 weeks about ectopic pregnancy - not a new pregnancy

Hello! I was wondering if someone can give any advice? or point to anyone with similar experiences.

I had an Ectopic pregnancy about 5 weeks ago and I had surgery to remove it. My left Fallopian tube was removed. My pregnancy tests are still positive. This is absolutely not a new pregnancy.

I have had some scans and there is nothing to see.

I then had some blood tests and my pregnancy hormone is stable at around 1000 with blood tests taken two days apart.

I have another scan booked with the consultant.

I am wondering what will happen next.

Dear jesenavaranjan,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss. Unfortunately we are not able to provide personalised medical advice so I am unable to give specific advice as to why your hCG is still elevated. It can remain elevated for a number of weeks lost surgery, but we usually see that it has decreased by week 3-4.

I am glad you are being monitored and I hope you get more answers with your next consultants appointment.

Sending much love,

Karen x
