Hi everyone -
I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2019. It ruptured and I lost my left tube. I was fortunate to get pregnant again soon after and I had a healthy son. 4 years on I have just start to try again for another. This is my first cycle. I test negative on first day of expected pregnancy and then the next day I came on my period (one day late).
My period is not weird - it’s bright red and watery. On first day it looks as though it had string cm. But now day 4 it still bright red and watery. I have lower back pain but this was persistent early on in the month before trying. I am currently on holiday so I don’t know if the water activities could impact my period. I could do with some guidance and support of what to do,
On my previous ectopic I was around 4 days late and I had period - I tested negative right before I came on last time. I assumed I was not pregnant and the. The month after check I tested postive I thought I was 4 weeks when in fact I was 8. Please help.
Dear ik2018,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss and the worrying time you are going through. As a charity, we are unable to provide personalised medical advice and would always suggest to discuss your symptoms with a medical practitioner or doctor if you have concerns or your symptoms worsen.
In the meantime, it maybe worth repeating your pregnancy test with an early morning urine test. If it is positive, please seek urgent medical advice. You could also try some over the counter pain relief such as paracetamol (per pack instructions) and see if this helps with your discomfort.
As mentioned, please do seek medical advice with any concerns.
Sending much love,
Karen x
