Hi all, looking for some advice as I am feeling extremely anxious…
I had an ectopic pregnancy in Jan and lost my right tube. I had no symptoms other than consistent light bleeding and a positive but very faint pregnancy test - that never got any darker.
Been TTC since then and I am now 8 days late for my period. I have tested daily and all tests are negative. I don’t feel stressed and I am normally regular as clockwork. I am worried that I am having another ectopic pregnancy.
My GP and EPU won’t see me until I have a positive pregnancy test.
Can you offer any advice? Does a ectopic pregnancy ever present like this?
Thanks
Dear Emerald,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss and the worrying time you are going through.I
With ectopic pregnancy, there is still usually a positive pregnancy test. We would advise to use the first urine in the morning to test.
Periods can be delayed for a number of reasons including stress or even (as surprising as it may sound) excessive exercise or weight loss. Doctors normally consider menstrual cycles of between 23-42 days to be within normal parameters. If you have not had your expected period, we would advise retesting, using an early morning urine sample in a further week. As you have been TTC, while I do not want to alarm you, if you experience any pain or unusual bleeding, please do get medical attention as soon as you can. If it has been 42 days since the first day of your last menstrual period, please talk to your GP who maybe able to assist you further.
Sending much love,
Karen x
